Floreo started as a glimmer of an idea after our son used VR for the first time almost two years ago. What started as a self-funded project and later brought on folks who worked out of our basement has blossomed into something real. We decided earlier this year to take things to the next level and bring on a team of investors to help Floreo. We are pleased to announce that we recently concluded a $2.1 million seed raise. We’re bringing on a great set of investors across virtual reality, gaming, digital health and edtech. The participating funds include Presence Capital, GC VR Tracker Fund (started by Greycroft Partners’ Jon Goldman), Mixi’s i-Mercury Fund, COLOPL VR Fund, Schoolhouse Partners, and Lifeforce Capital. I am also humbled to have a great set of angel investors as well. This includes a number of folks who worked with me at Amazon including former executives Felix Anthony, Tom Killalea, Rick Dalzell and Jason Kilar. This is a critical early step in our journey to building something great for families in need. We thank our investors for joining in our pursuit. We have already put the new capital to work, adding to staff including hiring as our Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Sinan Turnacioglu, a neurodevelopmental pediatrician formerly at Children’s National Medical Center here in Washington DC. We are also hiring for several software engineering positions which can be found here.
